PET Urgent Care
PET Urgent Care is available for pets needing to see a veterinarian after normal office hours but not requiring a visit to the ER. Avoid long wait times and consider visiting PET Urgent Care for nonemergent cases.

Who We Are
PET Inc. was originally formed in the late 1970’s by a group of veterinarians in Anchorage who saw the need to offer critical care services to patients after hours. Since its origin, PET Inc. has grown into a dedicated 24/7 emergency and critical care facility and is now the oldest hospital in Anchorage.

Dr. Hefley and her staff are amazing! If your pet needs to have TPLO surgery, she is the one I would highly recommend in AK. This is Thor's second surgery (opposite leg). The first surgery was completed by another local well known vet and did not go as well. Thor is recovering much better this time around. The swelling and bruising is not half as bad as his last surgery an...

I had to take my senior dog to the PetER after we had someone step out into traffic in front of our truck. When we slammed on the brakes, she was thrown into the back of the seat and then in the floor. She didn’t seem injured but then was having problems with a back leg that looked pretty bad. Our dog, Rosie was choking on a piece of dog biscuit. When we realized we could not dislodge it we rushed her to PET Emergency Treatment. She received excellent and very thorough care. We are so fortunate that care was available for us this situation. Our dog will have a full recovery.

This clinic saved my dog’s life. Ollie was diagnosed with stomach flip. On the way to the clinic my Ollie was throwing up foam and crying in agony in the backseat. It was heartbreaking. Once there, they took him right away and gave him life saving emergency surgery. Thankful for this clinic and the surgical procedure went well.

Called ahead because we were coming in with 3 dogs who had tangled with a porcupine. They were ready for us and took them right in and got started. They had originally estimated 2-3 hours, but it was about 1 hour. All 3 dogs recovered nicely. Very grateful for Pet Emergency!

I cannot speak highly enough of this facility. Every single person from the reception desk to the nurses and techs to the doctors. Everyone met me and my cat salamander with compassion and patience. I watched them navigate tough encounters with grace and care. I love these guys!

Extremely helpful and quick, especially given the circumstances. Had a pet emergency at 8pm on a Friday night and they were able to get my dog in to be looked and then they were still able to perform a mass removal for her on the same night. Highly recommend.
